'Day Late, Dollar Short'

"We're just two people watching time fly by
In a world in it's obvious decline
But we are young and strong
We can carry on
Find a little paradise of our own"

So I am a day late writing and I am sure I am a dollar short in my pocket. The weekend has taken to a gloomy, overcast and raining set of days, but it seems to fall at the right time. Studio Project due Monday- enough said.

Going back and visiting the forum on Monday, although a cold and blistering morning, it was truly beautiful. The way that the 'festival pavilion' with seaside park and gigantic solar panels embrace the water front it is and is not the perfect way for land and sea to meet. For yes they are situated facing the water utilizing the views back upon the shore side of Barcelona and the beautiful view out on the to Mediterranean sea. Thus creating a very hard line between water-free form and land-structure. Which could be taken in the positive or negative.

Our field trip visit on Wednesday was to the meteorology center which is along the water front near the 1992 Olympic Village. Again I was so intrigued at how the water met the structure of the land. But it was also interesting at how the meteorology center became like a period at the end of the Olympic Village sentence. For the building is separated a great deal from the rest of the buildings and placed at the end of a extensive green area.

So this week it is not that I went out to find that 'little paradise', but it is that I found a paradise within myself. The one that now understands and appreciates the importance of junction.

Junction between building and sky, water and land, idea and reality.
